History

T-90 was a T-72B upgrade with T-80U fire control (1992). The M model is a deep rebuild: Kalina FCS, Relikt, new turret, commander’s independent sight. Combat in Ukraine showed it is harder to kill than T-72B3 — and still killable from the top and rear.

Doctrine

Russia’s fielded modern tank, not the parade T-14. Relikt and a new welded turret try to fix the T-72/90 family weak cheeks. Still a three-man autoloader tank meant to be built in useful numbers.
